My name is Nigel Herbert and I am a Certified Master Trainer, I deal with many aggressive on a daily basis. The majority of these dogs are not pitbulls, infact i have dealt with more aggressive Goldens than any other breed. The problems people are having with their dogs is a direct result of their raising and training. Dog owners need to be taught the right way to raise a dog before they even purchase it.

Unfortunately there are so many different methods of training that an in experienced dog owner wouldn't know how to pick. I believe there should be rules made on what is the proper way to raise a dog and what trainers are capable of teaching this to potential dog owners.

Dogs are not born aggressive they are born with instincts that we must learn to understand and harness. Teaching them when and when not to use those instincts instead of just hoping they will know how to judge what may appear to them to be a potentially threatening situation.

Put yourself in a dogs shoes for a second and think about these situations. Also remember that you don't understand a word that the stranger is saying.

A stranger is running towards you.
A stranger touching you.
A stranger constantly looking a you.
A stranger entering your home/yard.
A stranger touching a member of your family.

In all of these situations not to mention hundreds more I would feel threatened. In some of these situations i would feel threatened even if i knew the "Stranger". I would have protected myself does that mean I'm a "ticking time bomb"?

Dogs do not understand what we know to be safe without teaching them. In all of those situations a protective dog of any breed would feel threatened and possibly attack. Does this mean the dogs blood thirsty. NO

If any of the people judging this law had any knowledge of dogs or the situations in which the dogs attacked they would not be for, a breed ban they would be trying to find ways to educated all dog owners to prevent any more attacks by any dog. This ban is racism and nothing more. I pray to God that the fools who are for this ban don't look in prisons and choose to do the same to all of us innocent people.

Don't be the judge unless you understand the rules.
